Discover an English working vineyard. Discover the fascinating world of English wine with this fabulous Vineyard Tour and Tasting session for two. Throughout the UK acres upon acres of vines produce thousands of bottles of top quality luscious wines each year. This experience is an ideal opportunity to find out more about the English wine industry while enjoying a tour of one of England’s finest vineyards followed by a tasting session where you can sample some of the most popular wines.The ExperienceDuring the tour an experienced guide will explain the history of English wine - from how vines are grown and pruned through to picking the grapes fermentation blending and bottling at the end. You’ll learn about how vines are produced on a commercial scale and the reasons for the choice of grapes which are selected. Many vineyards have cafés or a restaurant where you can make the most of your experience and treat yourself to lunch. Programmes vary slightly depending on your chosen location. Please note that the Oxfordshire location includes a winery and brewery tour and tasting for two. There'll be a maximum of 50 people in your group. Unfortunately this experience is not suitable for spectators. You will need to have general fitness as there is some walking involved.
