The Westbury Cello by Eastman Strings Maple and spruce body This Westbury Cello has a figured maple body with a solid spruce top giving this cello a resonant sound and splendid response, ideal for student and intermediate players. Handmade using these quality tone woods, each cello has a unique special character and optimum tone. Hand applied soft amber varnish for a long lasting, beautiful finish. Ebony fittings throughout A significant feature of the Westbury Cello is the use of ebony fittings throughout, the fingerboard, top nut and pegs. Ebony is the traditional wood for these components as it is long lasting and can repaired easily. Bow, bridge and cover Included with the Westbury Cello Outfit are all the extra accessories that you need to get playing straight away. Included in the pack is an octagonal Brazilwood bow, which gives an ideal weight distribution right across the bow for better overall control. Also included is the French style Maple Despiau Bridge which is fitted perfectly for each instrument. All this comes in a highly padded gig bag, which provides reliable protection and ease when transporting the instrument to lessons, rehearsals and concerts alike.
