BLAHOWETZ, Joseph Born 1857, died 1909 Markneukirchen Germany. Father of Willy Blahowetz. Blahowetz is well known in Germany but relatively unknown in the UK. The two-piece front of spruce of medium grain in the centre broadening towards the flanks. The back in two pieces of maple of medium curl descending across the back from the centre joint. The ribs, pegbox and scroll are similar. The varnish of a rich red-orange colour on a yellow ground.
