Cello By Charles Quenoil, Paris 1925 no.607 Charles Quenoil born 1878 Mirecourt, died 1952 Igny France. He trained with Victor Audinot and worked for Charles Brugre in Paris from 1894. Established independently at 8 rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis and from 1935 living in Bois de Pileu, Igny, Seine-et-Oise. Copies of classical Italian instruments, specialising in cello and double basses. A fine and handsome Cello bearing the makers original label. The attractive two-piece back of maple of strong medium curl running horizontally across the back from the centre joint, the ribs, peg box and scroll of similar curl. The table in two pieces of spruce of medium-fine. The varnish of a rich golden orange-brown colour on a yellow ground. Label Reads: CHARLES QUENOIL, No.607, 8. Faub. S'Denis 8 _ PARIS 1925 Length of back 763mm Width upper bout 350 mm Width centre bout 245 mm Width lower bout 448 mm Condition Report Acondition report is available by request.The instrument is, however, offered in a fully restored condition and has been fully and professionally setup in our workshops. Any repairs have either been conducted by ourselves or fully inspected and the quality of the repair verified by our workshop. No further repairs are required.
