African (or Cape) Mallows are beautiful, fast growing shrubs with an abundance of pink, hibiscus-like flowers which appear in summer and again in autumn - in fact they'll bloom all year if not exposed to freezing temperatures. Spring is the ideal time to plant them, just as the soil is warming up so you can get the most out of this spectacular plant. Absolutely smothered in hundreds of medium-sized, strawberry-pink blooms on a standard bush, 'Princess Pink' is ideally suited to growing in a pot, where its long flowering season gives you months of guaranteed flower power. Easy to grow, upright and vigorous, they make a superb specimen shrub for a prominent spot in gardens or on decking, patios or balconies, where their small, furry leaves can remain evergreen in all but the coldest of weather, making this a super specimen plant for year-round interest. Perfect in pots as well as the garden, they perform well in any well drained, fertile soil in a sunny spot and it's even possible to grow Anisodontea as a houseplant - although bear in mind that it will need a dormant period over winter, so just move it into a cool, well-lit spot, that doesn't freeze. Supplied as an established standard plant 80cm tall (including 19cm pot), your plant can reach approximately 1m when trimmed to size.
